PROPHECY
- 5 minutes read - 1031 wordsMOENIE PROFESIE VERAG NIE
I THESSALONICENSE 5:20 AFR53
I KORINTHIËRS 14:1-5 AFR53
DON’T DESPISE PROPHECY
There are more prophets than ever before. The messages are often contradictory. I will be honest - I find it difficult to listen to a lot of them. I pray for discernment, because Jesus warns us against false prophets. We must always have grace for young, inexperienced prophets that make mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes. Don’t draw your own conclusions. Don’t despise prophecy because some people prophesy lies. Prophecy is holy since it comes directly from God. Test all prophecy against the Word. Pray and ask Holy Spirit to give you wisdom about prophecy. The Bible warns us not to despise prophecies.
1 Thessalonians 5:20 MEV
Do not despise prophecies.
1 Thessalonians 5:20 TPT
And don’t be one who scorns prophecies,
Matthew 24:24 MEV
For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
1 Corinthians 14:1-5 MEV
Follow after love and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. [2] For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him, although in the spirit, he speaks mysteries. [3] But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification and exhortation and comfort. [4] He who speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. [5] I desire that you all speak in tongues, but even more that you prophesy. For greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edification.
Numbers 11:29 MEV
Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? Oh, that all the people of the LORD were prophets, and that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!"
Ezekiel 12:21-28 MEV
The word of the LORD came to me, saying: [22] Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have in the land of Israel, saying, "The days are prolonged, and every vision fails"? [23] Tell them therefore, "Thus says the Lord GOD: I will make this proverb cease so that they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel." But say to them, The days are at hand and the effect of every vision. [24] For there shall be no more any vain vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel. [25] For I the LORD will speak, and the word that I speak shall come to pass. It shall be no more prolonged. For in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word, and will perform it, says the Lord GOD. [26] Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying: [27] Son of man, look, the house of Israel says, "The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of the times that are far off." [28] Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: There shall none of My words be prolonged anymore, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, says the Lord GOD.
