SOEK/SEARCH JESUS
- 6 minutes read - 1270 wordsSOEK JESUS; NIE RYKDOM NIE
Aardse besittings bring net tydelike genot.
As jy rykdom of ‘n gemaklike lewe soek sal jy dit dalk nooit kry nie.
I TIMÓTHEÜS 6:7-10 AFR53
JAKOBUS 1:9-11 AFR53
“En julle sal My soek en vind as julle na My vra met julle hele hart.”
JEREMIA 29:13 AFR53
SEARCH JESUS; NOT RICHES
Earthly belongings only bring temporary pleasure. Paul was content in all circumstances, since he found peace and strength in Jesus. Jesus preached that we shouldn’t worry about food and clothes; those are things the heathens are worried about. Some Christians die poor and go to Heaven without having earthly treasures. Read Luke 16 that talks about Lazarus and the rich man. Lazarus was a Christian and still had a difficult life. Jesus was crucified, John the Baptist was beheaded, Stephen was stoned and the disciple James (brother of John) was killed with a sword. Jesus sent His followers out like sheep amongst wolves. If you are searching for riches you might never find it. When you search Jesus you will find Him and He will supply your needs.
Philippians 4:11-13 TPT
I’m not telling you this because I’m in need, for I have learned to be satisfied in any circumstance. [12-13] I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.
Matthew 6:19-21 TPT
“Don’t keep hoarding for yourselves earthly treasures that can be stolen by thieves. Material wealth eventually rusts, decays, and loses its value. [20] Instead, stockpile heavenly treasures for yourselves that cannot be stolen and will never rust, decay, or lose their value. [21] For your heart will always pursue what you esteem as your treasure.
1 Timothy 6:7-10TPT
Isn’t it true that our hands were empty when we came into the world, and when we leave this world our hands will be empty again? [8] Because of this, food and clothing is enough to make us content. [9] But those who crave the wealth of this world slip into spiritual snares. They become trapped by the troubles that come through their foolish and harmful desires, driven by greed and drowning in their own sinful pleasures. And they take others down with them into their corruption and eventual destruction. [10] Loving money is a root of all evils. Some people run after it so much that they have given up their faith. Craving more money pushes them away from the faith into error, compounding misery in their lives!
Luke 16:13-15 TPT
It is impossible for a person to serve two masters at the same time. You will be forced to love one and reject the other. One master will be despised and the other will have your loyal devotion. Your choice between God and the wealth of this world is no different. You must enthusiastically love one and definitively reject the other.” [14] Now, the Jewish religious leaders listening to Jesus were lovers of money. They laughed at what he said and mocked his teachings, [15] so Jesus addressed them directly. “You always want to look spiritual in the eyes of others, but you have forgotten the eyes of God, which see what is inside you. The very things that you approve of and applaud are the things God despises.
James 1:9-11 TPT
The believer who is poor still has reasons to boast, for he has been placed on high. [10] But those who are rich should boast in how God has brought them low and humbled them, for all their earthly glory will one day fade away like a wildflower in the meadow. [11] For as the scorching heat of the sun causes the petals of the wildflower to fall off and lose its appearance of beauty, so the rich in the midst of their pursuit of wealth will wither away.
Jeremiah 29:13 MEV
You shall seek Me and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart.
Psalm 37:4 TPT
Find your delight and true pleasure in YAHWEH, and he will give you what you desire the most.
Matthew 6:33 TPT
“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.
