Nephilim: Strong’s H5303 giants derived from H5307 napal which means to fall or outcast. Nephilim refers to the fallen ones.
Nave’s Topical Bible reference: ones falling upon hence violent ones; possibly giants.
The people fell out of fear, when they saw nephilim. Only in 2 verses in the Bible the word nephilim appears.
According to the 10 spies nephilim were the sons of Anak. Nephilim can thus also be Anakites.
Genesis 6:4 NKJV
There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Valley of Rephaim: Nave’s Topical Bible Reference: A fertile plain south of Jerusalem, 3 miles from Bethlehem.
The valley of the Rephaim was given to the Israelites.
